Care says it was his parents, who from an early age, encouraged him to do as many sports as possible and just go out and enjoy himself. They always pushed him to keep going and not give up.

In 2006, Care was part of the England Sevens squad that competed in the Commonwealth Games and was also a regular in the England Under 19 team throughout the Six Nations and World Championship. He then went on to represent England at Under 21 level in the 2006 World Championship.

Earlier in his career, Care represented England at Under 16 and Under 18 level, in addition to being part of the England Under 19 Sevens squad that competed in the Commonwealth Youth Games in Australia in 2004.

In the summer of 2008 Care became a member of the full England squad which toured New Zealand. In the first of two games Danny came off the bench, but in the second he made the starting XV and scored his first try in the full England shirt.

For inspiration, Care says he’s a Liverpool fan, and is inspired by player Steven Gerrard, admiring the drive and determination he gives, week in week out. He is also a big fan of David Beckham. His favorite foods are fish and chips.
