Alex O'Loughlin
Alex O'Loughlin, August 24, 1975, in Canberra, New South Wales, Australia, is an Australian actor best-known for his roles in "Oyster Farmer", "The Shiel"d and "Feed".
O'Loughlin was raised in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; he graduated in 2002 from the National Institute of Dramatic Art.
O'Loughlin started out his film career in 2004, when he starred in "The Oyster Farmer" as Jack Flange. The following year, he returned to the big screen in "Feed as Michael Carter, a movie which he also co-produced and helped write. Also released that year was a movie titled "Man-Thing", in which Alex played Deputy Eric Fraser.
In 2005, O'Loughlin received a boost in celebrity as a candidate for the role of James Bond. On 7 August 2005, he confirmed to The Daily Telegraph that he had tested for the role, but ultimately, the part went to Daniel Craig.
O'Loughlin was nominated for The Australian Film Institute's "Best Lead Actor in Television" for his role in "Mary Bryant". In 2006 he was nominated for the Logie Awards' "Silver Logie" in the same category and role. He made international debut when he made his way to American serialized television, on "The Shield" as Detective Kevin Hiatt, the newest member of the strike team.
